We have explained the recipe “traditional” English pudding, ie, which is made from fruits, but the truth is that we can find many other recipes from the origin and even substitute fruits for vegetables do we try?.





  • 2 eggs
  • 4 Cooked tender carrots
  • 1 cup cooked spinach or chard
  • 1 cup cooked zucchini
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 small red pepper chopped
  • 1 cups bread crumbs
  • Milk
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Nutmeg
  • Oil
  • Mayonnaise (to accompany the serving)



We started chopping the spinach or the chard (not too small) and also the carrots. Mix the vegetables in a container and reserve.


In a bowl, we have to pour the crumb of bread that we will soak with a little milk. It is squeezed and reserved.


After this, chop the onion and sauté in a frying pan with a little oil in which we will also pour the chopped chili. We have to cook until we see that the onion and the chili are put tender and transparent, it is removed and the chopped vegetables are added previously, as well as the beaten eggs and the crumb of bread.


We take a mold of English pudding to which we put a paper of butter and we throw the mixture of the vegetables and the eggs. It is cooked to the water bath in the oven (preheated at 200 º C), until we see that the pudding is firm. To do so we just have to insert a toothpick, or a knife and check if when we click comes out completely clean.


We remove it from the oven and let it rest for five minutes before unmolding. When we want to serve it is better to cut into slices and accompanied by mayonnaise.
