Autumn is coming and we begin to choose more caloric recipes. We no longer worry about taking care of the figure but we prefer recipes that give us more energy. This is why this salad of polenta and cheddar cheese is an excellent choice for the fall.
So in this article we will explain what ingredients and what steps you have to follow to prepare a salad of polenta and cheddar cheese.
Polenta and cheddar cheese salad – ingredients
- 6 cups of water or some more
- 2 cups polenta
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 6 chives or 3 small onions
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 Cup of milk
- 1 cup bread crumb
- Frying oil
Preparation of polenta and cheddar cheese salad – step by step
First we have to prepare the polenta. To do this we put the water to hurt and once it breaks boiling must add the cornmeal or polenta. Stir constantly while cooking and thickening. Add salt and keep stirring as you lower the fire and thicken until you have the desired texture.
Then add the cheddar cheese and stir to melt. Also add onions or chives and chopped parsley.
Pour the polenta into a rectangular baking dish and allow to cool.
Once cold and stiffer cut squares (not too small or too large). Beat the eggs and the milk apart. Pass the polenta squaress through this preparation and batter with breadcrumbs.
Put oil in a frying pan and once you are encouraged to fry the polenta squares. Once gilded let stand on absorbent paper.
Once the polenta cubes are cold, mix in a bowl and sprinkle with a little more grated cheese or chopped fresh parsley.
This salad is excellent to accompany meats.
