The chicken with English sauce is also known by other names, like chicken in sauce perrins. In this recipe we show you how to prepare it at home and get a new recipe of tasty chicken.



The English sauce receives many different names like sauce Perrins, Worcester sauce or Worcestershire sauce. A sauce that combines beautifully with a multitude of dishes and stews, and can be added as a dressing in salads or dishes like this.
This sauce contains a wide variety of ingredients (onion, ajó, anchovies, vinegar, soybean, mustard in grain, cinnamon, pepper of different types, cardamom, clove, curry, ginger …, so it is usually more frequent to buy the English sauce or perrins than to prepare it at home.

Chicken with English sauce: ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken thighs
  • 1 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 Cup English sauce
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 600 gr Small Potatoes
  • Fresh parsley
  • Fresh sage


Chicken with English sauce: preparation


This recipe can be prepared with chicken thighs or any other part of the chicken you like, the flavor is always the same only that changes the juiciness of meat, presentation and comfort to eat. Clean the chicken by removing the skin and fat.
Peel the garlic and cut into chunks.
Put the chicken in a tall container and incorporate the English sauce, the red wine vinegar and the chopped garlic. Cover it with a paper and put it in the fridge for 30 minutes to be marine.
When all the ingredients are ready, turn the chicken into a baking dish, add the onion and clean and cut into strips, and put it in the preheated oven at 180 ° for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, put a saucepan with plenty of water in the fire and a good pinch of salt. By the time you add the washed potatoes, without removing the skin, and let them do about 20 minutes, it will depend on the specific size of the potatoes. Before removing them you can prick one with the tip of a knife to make sure they are tender.
Once you have everything ready, only serve the chicken with English sauce accompanied by cooked potatoes and fresh parsley leaves above.
