SIMPLE SUSHI RECIPE : HEALTY AND EASY TO COOK

The sushi has become one of the fashionable meals. Not only is it an exotic dish, it’s healthy and even fun to eat (don’t talk about it!). So if you have already decided to prepare it at home, you can not stop reading these tips and this recipe that will make your life easier. Bon Appetit!

 

Make Sushi at home

To make sushi it is important to have the right ingredients and elements. Nowadays it is not so difficult to find and in the big supermarkets you can find sections for international cuisine or specialized shops.
As for tools, a fundamental element is the bamboo mat to make the rolls, called Makisu. It is very easy to find, as many individual mats are bamboo and you can use them to make your sushi.
The ingredients can vary a lot, although there are two essential elements: rice and nori seaweed, which have an impressive sea smell, its flavor gives a very special touch to the dish.
To show you how to make sushi at home with your respective tips, we will use a basic recipe.

Make sushi salmon and avocado: ingredients

  • 1 avocado
  • Fresh or smoked salmon
  • 100 gr. Sushi Rice
  • 100 ml of water
  • Rice vinegar
  • 1 or 2 nori seaweed
  • Wasabi
  • Japanese soy sauce
  • Ginger root
  • Toasted sesame

How to make sushi rice

Pour the 100 gr of sushi rice into a wringer and wash well, until you stop seeing that the white water comes out by the effect of starch.
Once it is ready, keeping the rice in the wringer, we introduce both in a container with abundant water to cover it. We left him for 20 minutes. After this time you will see how it looks more hydrated, whiter. We’ll wipe it again and let it dry in the meantime.
Put a saucepan with 100 ml of water into the fire. As soon as it boils, add the rice and leave it for about 3 minutes on a strong fire, then lower it and leave it for 10 minutes, cooking with the covered casserole. In this step, I recommend that you look at the steps that comes in the package to see that cooking time recommends the brand.
As soon as the rice is ready, normally the water has been consumed, it is drained just in case and dumped in a bowl along with a spoonful of rice vinegar above.

Making Sushi at home: steps

 

Extend the mat and cover with film paper. Then, put the nori seaweed leaf so you can see what surface you have to cover with rice, remove it and pour a few tablespoons of rice to cover the surface you have pointed out. It has to be a not too thick layer.

Cut the avocado in half, passing the knife along (in the middle there is a huge avocado bone). Turn each half to one side and you have it open. Remove the skin and cut the avocado in slices.
Place this one in the center and cover it with salmon. In my case we used smoked salmon, to eat raw salmon I prefer to put myself in the hands of sushi chefs and for the landlord always use the smoked health crazes!
The rice side closest to you takes it to cover the filling with the help of the mat. You press the rice well and you finish winding it, pressing well again.

 

 

We’ve poured some toasted sesame on top to give it a crispy touch.
You put it on a plate and cut with a knife well sharpened and moist. The ideal thing is that you do not have to pass the knife on several occasions, but it is a clean cut to not disassemble the rice.
To serve it you can put a little wasabi, Japanese soy sauce and grated ginger root that gives it a hot and aromatic touch super.
